Tycoons 2006 - GTBITians Second

Amandeep Singh Gujral & Navneet Singh, both from 8th semester, won the second prize at TYCOON$ 2006, the inter-college personality competition organized by Career Launchers held at FICCI. They won a cash prize of Rs.5000.

In all 46 teams from various Engineering colleges in Delhi (IIT, DCE, NSIT, all IPU colleges) participated in the event. The event consisted of a Business-Quiz, Case Study, Situation Reaction Test and a Business Presentation. The top 15 teams from the first three rounds were given a product to Brand & Launch in the market.

The product given to their team was tissue paper. They presented an excellent plan for their product which was named 'KAWAYA'- Feel the chill. They appointed Mallika Sherawat as their brand ambassador. They enacted a commercial for their product in which a guy(Amandeep) talking on a phone in soarching heat comes across Mallika Sherawat(Navneet), who takes out a tissue from her ***(censored) and cleans his face with it. The expressions of Amandeep while looking at Mallika Sherawat were real amazing. The choice of Mallika Sherawat was justified by saying that she could be compared by using the world's smallest AC (KAWAYA tissue). On popular demand, this ad-commercial was repeated before the results were announced.

The team which stood first in the event was from MAIT. The other two teams from GTBIT who were selected for this event after clearing the intra-college round held on Thursday, April 20, 2006 were: Mohineet Gujral - Piyush and Gurpreet Singh Modi - Achal Aggarwal.

Online Submission of Training Status

All fourth semester students have to submit their 6-week summer training status by filling up an online form available at www.dlangchaps.org/training till May 10, 2006 (1300hrs, IST). Students have to register themselves online to get a username and password which would enable them to make changes to their training status. The final list has to be submitted to Mr. S.S.Batra, TPO on May 10, 2006 after which no changes would be allowed.

All students are required to fill-in whether they are doing their training in industry or in-house. If you are doing industrial training, you have to include the name of the company from where you are doing the training. The students interested in in-house training should mention their field of interest, as this might be helpful in deciding the course of the in-house training. Also, correct contact information should be provided on the form, so that you could get regular updates on this issue.

This form is the first-ever online submission of a list for the students of GTBIT. This is an effort to make better use of the available technology and thus, making it convenient for the students. As students had to submit their status before May 10, when we would be having our preparatory leave for end-term exams, I thought it would be better to make an online form which students could fill according to their convenience and could modify it before the deadline, if their is any change. If this runs successfully, students may see more such revolutionizing changes ahead for the betterment of our college.

Trapped ???

Modi, this would seem a bit offensive, but when i read your comment, I was laughing... laughing out loud, that u even hope that the state of affairs will get better.
Today, was actually was another learning experience, because i know we never learn from Gates... I feel as if I am trapped... trapped inside an endless maze fighting my way out, just in search for a ray of light to brighten my life...

I dont believe in miracles, but i believe that dreams can come true, only if u fight for them...
Today was just one more lesson in our life teachning that harsh realities of life...NEVER BACK DOWN...
And also, i have realised that getting angry or increasing our voice pitch won't do any good to us...
Currently, we dont anything, and the authorities have everything... What we have to do is simply use their rules against them...I think that's not a tough job to do...

As of now i guess this has been a very long thing, and I think i should be going..
But who the hell cares... if anyone wants to see a copy of the letter.. here it is ::
